Pokémon Ancient Roar Booster Box SV4K

Pokémon Ancient Roar Booster Box SV4K

Explore the powers of the past with Pokémon Ancient Roar, in Japanese 古代の咆哮. Together with its sister set, Future Flash, Ancient Roar is the fourth Japanese main expansion in the Scarlet & Violet series.

The sets feature Paradox Pokémon and introduce the Ancient and Future card variants, which can be found on both Pokémon and Trainer cards. This factory-sealed booster box contains the Japanese Ancient Roar edition.

Ancient and Future cards

The two card variants have their own characteristics and playstyles. Both feature a text symbol in the upper right corner of the illustration and a distinctive background along the right side of the card.

Ancient cards feature a background inspired by layered rock formations. Pokémon in this category often have powerful, direct attacks and are difficult to knock out.

Future cards feature a pixelated background and often use Abilities and attacks with additional effects that allow for more creative strategies.

The Trainer cards in each category have effects that support their respective Pokémon.

Ancient Roar contains no Lightning- or Metal-type Pokémon. Its sister set, Future Flash, contains no Darkness-type Pokémon.

Ancient Roar and Paradox Rift

The international expansion Paradox Rift combines cards from the Japanese Ancient Roar, Future Flash, Raging Surf, and Terastal Starter Sets.

Paradox Pokémon previously appeared in the Scarlet & Violet and Obsidian Flames expansions, but here they take on a more prominent role.

Paradox Rift also contains Technical Machine cards, which were reintroduced in Japanese Raging Surf after last appearing in Rising Rivals. These are now considered Pokémon Tool cards.

The international Paradox Rift expansion contains:

• 13 Pokémon ex and 7 Tera Pokémon ex.
• 34 illustration rare Pokémon.
• 15 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards.
• 28 ultra rare Pokémon ex and Supporter cards with full-art illustrations and texture.
• 7 hyper rare cards with a gold-colored, textured finish.

These figures apply to the entire international Paradox Rift expansion. They do not describe the contents of a single box or the card distribution in Japanese Ancient Roar.

More information was presented during the closing ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships 2023, on August 13, 2023.
