Pokémon Violet ex Booster Box SV1V

Pokémon Violet ex Booster Box SV1V

Start your journey through Paldea with Pokémon Violet ex, known in Japanese as バイオレットex. Together with its sister set Scarlet ex, Violet ex marks the beginning of the Scarlet & Violet series in the Japanese Pokémon Trading Card Game.

This factory-sealed booster box contains 30 booster packs with 5 cards each, totaling 150 Japanese Pokémon cards.

A New Generation of Pokémon

Scarlet ex and Violet ex are the first main sets to introduce Pokémon, items, characters, and locations from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Here you will encounter Generation IX and a new era of Pokémon ex.

Violet ex features Miraidon ex at its center, while its sister set Scarlet ex highlights Koraidon ex.

Tera Pokémon ex

Certain Pokémon ex also introduce the Tera mechanic, inspired by Terastalization from the games. This gives the cards a unique trait and works similarly to previous Ancient Traits.

Violet ex and the International Scarlet & Violet Expansion

The international Scarlet & Violet expansion combines cards from the Japanese Scarlet ex, Violet ex, and three ex Starter Sets.

The three starter sets were released at the same time as the Japanese expansions. Each of them highlights one Pokémon ex and one of Paldea's starter Pokémon.

The product on this page is the Japanese Violet ex box. Scarlet ex and the starter sets are not included.

New Card Design and Clearer Information

The Scarlet & Violet series introduced several changes to card design:

• Gray card borders internationally: The previous yellow borders were replaced with gray borders to match the Japanese cards and highlight the illustrations.
• Set and language codes: Expansion symbols were replaced with codes that identify the set and language.
• Clearer Trainer categories: Designations such as Supporter, Item, and Stadium were placed in the top left corner, making them easier to see when cards are held in hand.
• Extra Energy symbol: Energy cards received a new symbol in the bottom right corner to make them easier to keep track of during play.
• Pokémon Tool as its own category: These cards became a standalone Trainer category alongside Item, Supporter, and Stadium, rather than being a subcategory of Item.

In the international booster packs, all Rare cards were holographic, and the number of guaranteed holographic cards increased to three per pack.

The guarantee of three holographic cards applies to the international packs, not the Japanese Violet ex packs in this box.
